For both Android and iPhone phones, WhatsApp has introduced a plethora of features that have changed the way of using WhatsApp for its loyal users like special reply privately feature of iPhone, WhatsApp business app and much more.

1. WhatsApp Tipline

To control the WhatsApp fake news façade, a new feature called Checkpoint Tipline feature has been introduced where people can check the authenticity of the information. People can submit misinformation or rumors they receive on the special number issued by WhatsApp.

Users can share suspicious messages with the Tipline and proton verification center will check the authenticity of the message and verify it. The response in the form like true, false, misleading or disputed is shared with the user.

2. WhatsApp Business on Web

To improve the WhatsApp business app, the company has launched web and desktop versions of the app where user can send quick replies, labels and chat list filtering. This feature was earlier limited to the mobile users, but now business owners can use their WhatsApp app on their desktop or web-based devices as well.

3. Reply Privately for iPhone Users

At the beginning of 2019, WhatsApp has rolled up sleeves and presented new reply privately feature for iOS users. This feature gives the opportunity to iPhone users to reply privately to a group message where they can interact one on one. To use this feature, users need to hold a group message and select More, then they have to select the Reply Privately option which will enable them to reply privately to that message.

This feature is already available for Android users, but iPhone users get lucky in 2019. Apart from this iPhone users got a few more interesting features like 3D touch support, photo and video stickers, preview contacts status and much more.

4. Biometric Authentication Support for iPhone

The latest update of WhatsApp app has brought much-awaited biometric authentication support for the users who want safety for their WhatsApp iPhone. Now, iPhone users can lock their WhatsApp using the Face ID or Touch ID. To activate this feature, you have to Settings > Account > Privacy > Screen Lock. On the Screen Lock screen, you will get two options to lock your WhatsApp – Face ID or Touch ID.

You can also choose the biometric authentication requirement immediately or after some time like 15 minutes or an hour. However, WhatsApp allows the user to reply messages or calls from notifications without using biometric authentication.

5. Group Call Shortcut for Android

The next latest WhatsApp added feature in 2019 for Android will be the dedicated call button in the group chats. The new button can be used by Android smartphone users to make a group calls by adding as many as participants they want at once from the slide-out tray containing number card of all members present in the group. The user just has to tap over the name of the participants in the voice or video call.

6. WhatsApp Forwarding Info

In the latest version of WhatsApp beta, the forwarding info feature has been enabled. The beta WhatsApp users can see how many times the message has been forwarded. This information is only available if you are the sender of the message that has been forwarded multiple times already. This feature can be enabled by tapping over the forwarded messages and pressing on the information icon.

7. Short Link Feature for iPhone

With Business beta version 2.19.21.5., WhatsApp has provided Short Link feature for the iPhone users. This feature is already available for the regular Android and WhatsApp business app for Android, but now it has been tested over the iOS as well.

Using this feature, business owners can get short wa.me URL to share with their customers so that they can enjoy organized WhatsApp chat with their customers. Once you have installed the latest version of WhatsApp, then you can press Settings to visit the Short Link section.
