Futuristic Wearable Tech You Can Own Now

Futuristic Wearable Tech You Can Own Now

Last updated on March 28th, 2024 at 10:01 am

When 2001:A Space Odyssey debuted in theaters in the sixties, computers cost millions of dollars and had less power than an MS-DOS computer. The movie featured a computer so fantastic it could understand human speech and analyze bio metric data. Fast forward to now, we have computers that are actually even better than HAL.

The world of technology moves fast. Computers are no longer just machines that are kept on desks. Indeed, the hottest trend in tech right now is wearable tech. Gadgets like smartwatches feel less like computers and more like accessories we can easily incorporate into our lives.

Using wearable items are more convenient than using a computer. Of course, before we get into more detail about these gadgets, we should remind you that these gadgets rely upon a Wi-Fi connection and therefore, would need protection from a VPN software before to ensure they are secure.

Futuristic Wearable Tech You Should Try

Even the wearable tech sector is moving fast. No longer limited to just watches, here is a list of super cool wearable gadgets you can own to astonish your friends:

HoloLens

No, this is not an ad for Blade Runner. Microsoft has invented HoloLens, a pair of goggles that can project holograms. This gadget, inconceivable just a decade ago, uses 3D printing technology to recreate a real-life object and project it in a digital format.

Wearers of the goggles can transport themselves to a landscape recreated with digital objects, whether it’s your own bedroom or the surface of Jupiter. What could possibly be more sci-fi?

Tech Tattoos

In the future, you might not even need to buy any gadgets for things like playing music. Several companies, mainly Google, now use temporary tech tattoos. The tattoo is digitally created using a small processor-type gadget attached to the hand. These tattoos can collect fitness data, monitor sleep, and many more. The tattoos are temporary of course.

The Ring

This is the one ring to rule them all—that is your camera, Facebook account, and music player. Even rings have gone high-tech. This Ring is powered by Bluetooth and can connect to a specified list of gadgets and your social media accounts. The user can control the connected devices with programmed flicks of the ring finger. It looks like the future is here already.

Sense Sleep Pill

Activity trackers have long allowed users to monitor their sleep by counting the minutes they are asleep. Sense is a gadget that takes things further. This wearable can be used on self or a pillow. It monitors not the duration of sleep, but the quality of sleep. But the finest feature of this wearable is the alarm.

Instead of going off at a certain time that might ruin your REM cycle, Sense can detect when you are most likely to wake up. The sensors pick up on when you toss and turn and set the alarm off when you are ready to get out of bed.

Hairware

Hairware is no ordinary hair extension. It’s equipped with sensors that send data to a smartphone. The gadget, in essence, allows users to unlock their smartphones from far away. The potential for hair-based wearables probably won’t stop there.

ID Wristband

The ID wristband is a high-tech wristband similar to the type you would get at clubs or concerts. Instead of a burly bouncer checking the wristband, it can automatically allow the wearer to enter various secured areas. Disney is already using a MagicBand to allow access to wearers at crowded Disneyland areas.
